I teach Zumba with my wife.we used to use a Shure micphone with a mic-pack.
I don't mind so much, but my wife hated the mic-pack hanging on her tight pants, bouncing around.
This one is AWESOME!
while the audio quality is very different from the Shure, it blends more nicely to the song outputs.
Also helps that it has a Volume dial on the receiver.

Oh, the receiver unit does not have little rubber feet ... i just put some anti-skid pads under it so it doesn't dance away on it's own :P

Purchased in October 2011, it stopped working in January 2012 I took it apart and cleaned the tiny microphone as best as I could and it worked again. Same thing happened in April 2012 this time, I switched out the microphone with a more robust heavy duty component no problems yet.We use it in a Bikram Yoga (hot yoga) studio and it runs for 37.5 hours per week. Battery life is usually around 4 to 5 hours. I would buy again, but I would change out the feable microphone component with a more robust unit.

I have gone through 3 sets of the same. Since I teach kickboxing class, I could not think of using any other heaset but this. There's no other complete wireless on the market. All the rest require body pack around your waist. Samson has small unit which hangs over your one ear. I've tried, but no good for jumping. We bought this mic system for our new fitness studio. The setup was pretty straight-forward and I got it working right away. The headset is comfortable.If you turn the receiver on and the microphone is not turned on, horrible static comes out of the amplifier. I don't know if this is normal but it's a huge headache for our instructors to remember the proper order to turn the mic and receiver on and then have to turn them off in the reverse order.
You have to put the mic right up to your lips to get decent sound. Kind of annoying when it's a shared mic. The amp is not small, either. There is also frequent static that comes through the sound. I don't know why or where it's coming from but it breaks up the energy of a yoga class.
Another issue is the reliability. Our receiver went dead after 6 months. Amazon told me to contact the manufacturer who directed me to the service company in Arizone. When you're counting on it everyday, it's not feasible to send it for repair indefinitely so I have to purchase another one for another $300! Ug.
As far as I can tell, the sweat guard seems to cause just as many problems as it solves. Good idea, but bad design. What I've been doing and it seems to be working, is putting electrical tape over the on-off switches and then putting the sweat guard over that. It also helps prevent the sweat guard from inadvertently turning OFF the switches while you are installing it. I think drilling a small hole in the sweat guard under the switches may stop the water from collecting. I will try that and report back.
UPDATE 6-30-12: I used a paper punch and put two holes in the bottom of the Sweat Guard and it hasn't "drowned" since. All the Sweat Guard needed was a "weep hole". It's too bad the engineers at Samson couldn't have figured that out. It's an easy fix and would probably save them a lot of complaints from customers.
UPDATE 1-21-13: Just wanted to check in and say that I've been using this Mic three times a week and have not had a single problem with it shutting off since I punched two holes in the provided sweat guard. I've decided to upgrade my rating to four stars. It's a good Mic and seems to be reliable if the proper precautions are taken.
