I bought this mainly as a messenger bag with alternate uses as well.I am a MONO fan, as I have bought several of their products, including the Producer DJ Mixer bag, two M80 Double Pedal cases and the Ipad Loop Sleeve.
My main reason for getting this bag to to replace my well-used messenger bag. As a classical musician, I tend to carry a lot of 11"x17" music. Most bags don't really work well for that size of paper, so the edges get bent, torn, etc. This bag keeps my scores nice and comfy, plus the waterproof outer shell is a must. There's enough storage outside of the main compartment for the essentials (between the front and back pockets, you could pretty much store what you could carry in a regular folio. I keep my MacBook in the computer slot and put my Ipad in front pocket (along w/other stuff) and have the whole main pocket for oversized scores, etc. Very roomy. Plus I can also transport my percussion controllers when I need to transport those.
