Very nice keyboard for the price. Great sounds. However, I needed to hook up the USB/MIDI to my Mac and it didn't come with any Mac drivers, just drivers for Windows. User manual doesn't mention Mac at all. I searched the web and couldn't find anything Yamaha's support pages are horrible. Finally found a drivers page for a different Yamaha keyboard (PSR-295) and thought I would try the Mac drivers offered there. Crossed my fingers and... IT WORKED! This keyboard works great. It has many features and true Yamaha voices. I love it. Only thing is the stand that is not from YAMAHA so it does not fit axatly as it should be. Other than that, it is perfect.

First, I am not a professional musician. But I love music, and have a pretty good ear. This keyboard sounds just fine in it's default "Yamaha Piano" mode. However many of the other simulated instruments (called "voices") seem to be very much out of key. For example, a simple C-Major chord in the "church organ" voice actually hurts my ears. Playing the C and E notes together in this voice results in an obvious beat. Many of the voices that I would like to use have this problem, while others are OK. For example, the "chapel organ" C-Major chord sounds just fine. In addition, many of the simulated instruments do not sound much like the instrument they are imitating. Thus, to me none of the guitar options sound like a guitar.

The built-in speakers have a definite resonance point. This makes certain notes seem much louder. This is more obvious when using some of the other "voices" than it is in the "Yamaha Piano" mode.

The display panel is much too small for my older eyes. Using it to learn to play is also pretty useless, as it only displays one or two notes of the song at a time. It is really difficult to play when you can't see what is coming up, and the effort is reduced to basically an exercise in reaction time.

The plastic sheet music stand could have used a more defined lip at the bottom to keep pages in music books held open. I have resorted to setting something on the music stand in front of the pages.

As other reviewers have noted, the included keyboard stand does not fit the keyboard, nor is it adjustable for height. It is too high to use with any standard chair, and too low for me to use while standing. However Amazon is not the culprit here. The bundle is from Yamaha, and the stand is of their manufacture. I replaced it with On Stage KS7350 Pro Heavy Duty Folding Z Keyboard Stand ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000LCRP14/ref=oss_product ). This stand also does not attach to the keyboard. However it is adjustable for both height and width, and will go down to a height that makes the keyboard comfortable when sitting on a standard office or kitchen chair. The keyboard seems pretty secure sitting on it.

Bottom line OK as a piano keyboard, so-so on the added bells and whistles. For the price, I am disappointed.

Excellent keyboard for the price...as good as a full scale synth!

The stand and the headphones work like a charm. However the tutorials are not very intuitive!

Full disclosure: Not a piano/keyboard player, I'm a guitarist who wants to augment my recordings. The Yamaha YPT 410 has a ton of voices, very powerful and useful, with a lot more to them than you can hear out of the built-in speakers. I hooked mine up to a decent amp and was blown away by the richness and depth. Also hooked it up to a bass amp and played the bass sounds, it's all there. If you have a vocoder pedal (mine's an electro-harmonix v256) and a mic, there are a ton of voices that sound great through it, and a sustain pedal makes this setup even better for all the other voices.

My kids love it, they can work it easily and have figured out more features than I have, pretty funny. The cool thing is that they're showing more interest in music because this thing is so approachable with the select wheel and other controls.

The headphone that comes with it is a decent quality, although for big-eared freaks like me they are uncomfortable. The stand seems good and is sturdy enough, but doesn't really fit the keyboard (not a yamaha brand made specifically for it) or keep it level. If you have other keyboards, it may work better with them.

I owned these headphones for one week, and ended up returning them. Initially, out of the box, I thought these were some of the best headphones that I had heard in the under-$500 category. The upper frequencies are "detailed" so if someone is looking for a warmer sound, this isn't the headphone for you. But, the bass is really good and, by that, I do mean that there is detail in the bass and it is not just a "one note" wonder with the bass. But, what really started to get to with this product (the K167 headphones) is that at the end of a week, the foam in the ear pads didn't seem to be strong, or thick enough to keep a good level of padding thickness. This resulted in my ears literally touching the baffle of the headphones. So, I tried a recommended "tweak" to use some tissues to slightly raise the pads for comfort, however, the bass really suffered. This told me that the design of the headphones was really dependent upon the thinner pads and the ears had to be closer to the baffle for better bass.

My background: 30+ years of audio experience, speaker and subwoofer building, as well as a headphone enthusiast who loves music and good headphones.

I purchased these in December 2012, and was immediately pleased with how they sounded. I bought them to use at work while sitting at my desk working on a computer, getting on average about 8-10 hours of use a week. In early February I noticed the plastic inside the headband (that houses the cord) started to crack at the expansion areas on both sides. I have a fairly normal sized head (I wear a 7 5/8 baseball cap), and am always very careful not to pull headphones farther than needed when putting them on and taking them off. I treated these (my first pair of 'expensive' headphones) very well. I continued to use them very infrequently for the next few weeks (1-2 hours a week at most), and now one of the sides has completely broken through and the other side is not far behind.

They are basically unwearable now because they don't feel stable on my head and the sound leaks from a lack of pressure, and I am afraid that the cord will be damaged with further use. For these not to even last 2 months with light/moderate use and very careful handling is absolutely unacceptable. I will be contacting Amazon/AKG for a refund/replacement soon, and will make updates if/when I get a response.

I was one of the very first adopters of the K167. When I compared it side by side to the Beyerdynamic DT770 AE, I found that the K167 just beat out the Beyers in the sound department in almost every aspect. However, despite the stellar sound at the price point, these units have far too many problems for me to be able to recommend them.

First, the earpads are firm and plush until you break them in after a week, whereupon they turn into millimeter-thick on-ear pancakes whenever these are worn.

Second, the cable is very irritating because it is coiled, heavy, and non-detachable. This is the most annoying part of these units, because the cable is unwieldy and always gets in your way due to the weight; the cable bounces like crazy when you walk and can pull things it is attached to right off the end of a surface if you are not careful.

Third, the plastic used to construct the unit is clearly inadequate for any rigorous use; it creaks and bends heavily even in the most normal of circumstances. These feel as though they are going to break whenever they are handled.

Fourth, the folding mechanism is a total joke. It is very clumsy, and there are no situations where it is practical or useful due to the shoddy overall build of the headphone putting the unit at risk of snapping should it be placed in a bag.

Finally, the headband adjustment system is extremely weak and prone to breakage. Within two months of normal usage, both sliders managed to bend and snap at the connection point between the headband and the cup. Keep in mind, I have a smaller head than average, so there is no excuse for this occurring.

Here is what needs to happen: AKG needs to scrap production of both the AKG K167 and K267 and merge the models into one unit. Use the detachable cable and metal parts of the K267, scrap the useless bass boost function and dopey folding mechanism, use the drivers and the headband shape (with better, more consistent padding to compensate for weight) of the K167, put denser and thicker padding in the earpads, put the price between the K167 and K267, and you have a winning product.

As it stands, the K167 is built like a paper tank and the K267 is too bulky and too expensive.

The K167 are top contenders in the sub $500 price range, they have better bass impact and clarity then a D2000 and a variety of other headsets, even with tiesto branding they do not sound like DJ headphones, they are all-around solid AKG. The headphones are using fiberglass reinforced polymer, they are light & durable & the coiled cable is helpful in situations were distance is short (Attached to an E11, etc).

Super happy with the purchase, AKG has done a wonderful job.

These headphones sound real good for jazz or classical music, but if u like any music that has any bass into it do not buy these at all. They have very muddy bass, almost like you are playing music on a blown speaker.

I got these because they were an add-on item and I wanted some cheap headphones to just have around the house (I loose them like crazy). When I got them, I really wasn't expecting much, I mean, for $8 what can you expect. But OMG! These things blow the Skullcandy headphones I've been buying out of the water! The bass response is awesome (currently listening to the new Tron soundtrack). The thing I hate about the Skullcandy earbuds is that after a few months, one chanel goes dead. I think it's due to very small wire that connects them, but with the larger flat ribbon-type wire on these, I don't think they'll have that problem.

And, lets face it. For 8 bucks, who cares if they only last a few months, it's still half the price of a mediocre pair of Skullcandys.

Overall, I'm definitely going to be buying more of these (since I lose them all the time).

Definitely a thumbs up. The only thing I don't like is that they are an add-on item with a limit of 3 per order, so I can't fill my shopping cart with them. But I'm trying to find a way around that, lolz.

The MEElectronics RX12s are very well built. They are made of plastic and definitely looks its price but everything is very well put together. The flat spaghetti is very nice and is pretty much noise/tangle free. The RX12 also looks quite nice and is comfortable on the ear.

They are what I would consider extremely bass heavy earphones. The large amount of thumping bass pretty much overshadows the rest of the frequency range. The midrange, where most vocals reside, takes a backseat and is often completely enveloped by the bass. The treble region is fairly laid back as well though it does still maintains decent clarity.

Overall, the sound quality is not bad, but only if you like bass...and not much else. For everyone else, I'd point you to MEElectronics' older (but better) models from the M-series including the M6 and M9 which both deliver a more balanced and richer sound.

I was surprised how good these headphones were for the price. I have owned probably 10 different types of earbuds, as I use them every day at work. These sound almost as good as my 100 dollar Shure earbuds, but an 1/10 the price! Cable is flat and thin, but still seems sturdier than other headphone cables (which always break and is the reason I have owned so many).

I like the bass but don't like the tone not an enjoyable experience and I'm sorry I bought them. They're fine for audiobooks/podcasts however and appear to be built well. I like the flat tangle free cable and the colors have a nice appearance. I just find it impractical to take them off and on if I want to listen to music.

Just picked up a pair of these in Hong Kong (yes they are legit, went to an actual B&O showroom); here are my initial thoughts.

To preface, I am a musician (play piano, clarinet, saxophone and guitar) and have been blessed with the gift of perfect pitch, so I take my audio equipment purchases very, VERY seriously. I've previously owned several decent pairs of earbuds; I'm on my third pair of B&O A8s/Earphones (the first two each lasted for over 4 years) and also owned a pair of Bowers and Wilkins C5s before they broke. Was looking for a decent replacement for the C5s and had it narrowed down between these and Shure's SE425. I'll break down the review into a few categories for simplicity.

---COMFORT & FIT---

To say these are a wonderful fit is a drastic understatement. The H3s come with 4 different sizes of in-ear tips, and once in, it takes a lot for them to fall out. I've hated wearing traditional in-ear monitors in the past because they often fall out of my ears when I'm running or lifting weights, but these simply stay put. They're extremely light and comfortable and seal very well in the ear. These are truly the first IEMs that I've been able to make work for me fit-wise.

For comparison, the B&Ws use a circular inner ear loop to stay put; they actually worked very well for me. Shure's offering fits with the cord wrapped behind the ear as per usual; it's a love-it or hate-it approach, and for me I simply found the H3s to be a much more solid, comfortable fit. But again it comes down to personal preference.

---APPEARANCE AND DESIGN---

B&O has always been known for their design work, and the H3s are no different. They're crafted from a single block of aluminum, with 23 port holes drilled into the back of each earpiece framing the BeoPlay logo. In a nutshell, they look simply stunning; I've already been asked about them by a dozen people in the last week alone here in China/HK. They come in silver, black, and red; if you want to make a statement, definitely go with the red, although the black ones have a subtle elegance about them as well. While they're not instantly recognizable in the way that, say, Shure's offerings are,

---SOUND QUALITY, MIDS AND TREBLE---

If you have listened to any B&O headphones before, the common theme among them is fantastic highs and a rich, wide mid. As far as the treble goes, there isn't much more that needs to be said. You'll have a nigh impossible time finding a set of buds for this price that can simply match the depth and clarity that the H3 has for the price. Shure's SE425s come close, but even then there is still a noticeable difference (the C5s, while extraordinarily good in their own right, just can't touch the H3s either). Individual instruments sound clear and precise, almost as if you're actually playing the instrument. If classical/jazz/acoustic is your thing, you'll be blown away by the response.

---SOUND QUALITY, BASS---

This is the traditional Achilles' heel of any B&O headphone. The A8s and Form 2 alike struggle with any sort of bass whatsoever. So, the verdict with the H3s? Its...a mixed bag. It's a MASSIVE improvement from my A8s, or any other B&O offering, I'll give them that. The bass is quite punchy, but not in the massively oversaturated way that, say, Beats are known for. For the vast majority of songs, the bass complements the outstanding mid and treble nicely, never drowning out the highs but also not hiding in the background the way B&Os usually do. However, where these really start to struggle is with heavy EDM or dubstep. Bass here can sound a bit muddy, as if the drivers are struggling to deliver. It's not horrible by any stretch of the imagination, but if you exclusively listen to heavy hip-hop or EDM, then you definitely are gonna notice a difference if you check out the SE425s or the C5s. The SE425s are just more balanced and precise in their bass delivery, always sounding clear and deep. The C5s also do a fantastic job of delivering powerful bass, but do sacrifice some of the top-range precision to achieve this. That being said, I listen to quite a bit of EDM (going to TomorrowWorld this September!) and still find the H3's perform quite nicely. All in all, a marked improvement, but there is a noticeable gap between these and some of the competition.

---VALUE---

I'll just get it out of the way: with the vast majority of B&O products, you do pay for the name. However, IMO $250 is a perfectly reasonable price to pay for this level of sound quality. The B&W C5s are cheaper, at about $180, but the H3s sound considerably better. And while the SE425s offer better bass performance, you really have to step up to the SE535s to get the level of mid-range and treble performance that the H3s offer.

Also, it should be stated that B&O offers a 3-YEAR warranty on all of their products, which is substantially better than pretty much any other warranty on the market. You mail in/walk in with the broken headphones, and they replace it no questions asked. Customer service is a big deal for them, and I've been exceptionally satisfied in my 8 years as a B&O customer.

---THE FINAL VERDICT---

All things considered, this offering from B&O is exceptional for the price. The bass response could be improved, but the richness and clarity of the mid and treble range almost (almost!!) render this a moot point. You can't even come close to matching the high-end response at the sub-$300 price point. They are extraordinarily comfortable to wear, and look fantastic. In short, there are a hell of a lot of worse ways to spend $250, and if you are in the market for a higher-end pair of in-ear phones/IEMs, I really, really urge you to try these out before you make a purchase decision. You will not be disappointed.

EDIT: The 3.5mm plug on my pair failed after about 2 months of use. I really wish B&O used an L-type connector on the plug to reduce strain, but unfortunately they don't. However, I walked into my local B&O store in Atlanta and they were replaced with no questions asked. Exceptional customer service to be sure, but it still is unsettling that these failed after only 60 days of use. Hopefully this new pair is more durable.

So I got these the other day because I'm in college and needed an affordable DJ headset for mixing at parties and such. After looking through a ton of reviews of different products and all of the ones on these headphones, (the different color ones have reviews, this one just hasn't had any yet), I decided to go with these.

Pros:

-Good overall sound quality, no apparent distortion

-Really cool look

-Well built, pretty flexible

-Comes with 2, 1/4 inch adapters, one of them being a 90 degree angle, and a nice bag for the headphones

-Long, but not obnoxious cord length

-Great price

Cons:

-These WILL hurt your head after about 20 minutes, when they say DJ headphones, stick to DJing with them. I DJed 2 party's this week and they were fine for that because they are on and off your head most of the time (one on ear, one off). I tried using them to produce in FL 10 and I had to constantly take them off to avoid a headache.

-I noticed after a decently long period of time, the cushions got a little sweaty (granted it was really hot in the room), but still something to make note of.

-Sound cancellation was okkkaayyyyy, if that's really what you are looking for then these aren't for you.

-One last thing, one of the reasons I got the neon green was because I thought that it would glow under black light. It kinda doesn't really...the stitching on top does, but the green plastic itself does not, just something to keep in mind as well.

Overall, if you simply want a pair of headphones to DJ with at an affordable price these are great. If you are looking to do anything else with them, look somewhere else.

American Audio makes pretty decent stuff. most of it is a copy of Pioneer's more expensive products. but my experience has been that they are fairly durable and work to expectations. the last pair of headphones I owned were American audio and they lasted me 4 years before finally breaking at the swivel joint at one of my gigs. It wasn't too disappointing though because I'd already beat the ever loving crap out of them before that. if you take care of these they may just last you a lifetime. word of advice though, if you feel a little ambitious you can replace the headphone jack with a gold plated heavy duty one from radio shack. the aluminum plating on the factory plug tends to where off after about a year of use and can cause one side or both to stop working. Easy fix for someone who can solder like myself. well worth the amount of money spent though. Love the green so thats what I went with. its nice and bright! does not glow under black light like some people might have though. I wouldn't expect it too though, this isn't phosphorescent coloring.

These headphones are bass monsters, but are about as lo-fi as you can get. There is very little clarity, detail, or soundstage to them, and they are probably the worst sounding of the 12 or so pairs of headphones I currently own. I can only describe their sound as hollow and flat in the high and midrange (bordering on monotone), which is lost behind buckets of bloated bass. Now, I will say that the sub and mid bass response is pretty incredible when properly amplified, and doesn't distort easily, making them an ok choice for some electronic music without vocals.

The build quality is fairly solid, but the finish is a bit sloppy, and the first pair I received arrived with a defective mini plug.

I would return these headphones, but I got them practically free on a lightning deal with a promo credit. So, I keep these for when my friend's kid needs something to use with her iPad, or any other scenario in which I don't want to risk harm coming to a better pair.

I will say that these do improve a fair amount with burn-in, and I can't comment on how well they work for DJ'ing because I do not use them for that purpose. I have heard that DJ's sometimes montior their mixes in monotone, and perhaps that is exactly what these headphones are trying to accomplish. They might be great for DJ'ing I wouldn't know. I will tell you these are not good at all for casual listening. To give you an idea of my preferred sound signature, I listen primary at home with a tube amp, cmoy, or E11, and my favorite pairs of headphones are neutral and analytical, like my MDR-V6's, and AKG Q701's.

I give these 2 stars for the price I paid ($5.71), and because they function, and have good bass. The current asking price of $50 is about 4 times what they are worth, and had I paid that much they would've gotten 1 star and a return label. For recreational listening you can get a far better pair for $20, and I do not recommend these for that purpose.

This is an excellent usb microphone. I have no problems using it for picking up conversations around a typical sized conference table. The audio quality is pretty decent, and you can use it placed on your computer desk to easily make typical calls from your computer. I've tested it with Mac, Linux, and Windows and it has worked well on each. For some reason on a Windows 8 install, the OS would automatically lower the volume of the mic. I'm guessing there's a setting that could fix this, but it was kind of a pain. Thankfully I hardly ever use Windows and it runs without flaw on Linux (tested on Ubuntu), which is great. The sound quality on the speaker could be better or louder, but it works fairly well as a speakerphone if the party on the other end is at a normal volume. It's also been tremendously busy on feedback/echo from the speaker and even from other external speakers. I was really pleasantly surprised by this.

I've also found it to be pretty durable. It's been dropped a couple of times, with no loss in audio quality or visual scars.

I bought this because I have trouble hearing the TV and I've already tried various wireless headphone devices without success. Those that required batteries used them up fast, especially when I didn't remember to turn the unit off. Then, they had to be synced every time I changed the batteries. Others needed to be recharged between sessions and would run dry in the middle of a movie. Others had the hardware built into the headphones making them heavy and requiring replacement of the whole system when the headphones wore out.

Finally I discovered this little headphone amp and I couldn't be happier. To my slightly inadequate ears, it sound very clear and it has far more amplification that I can ever use. My wife uses one of the other outlets occasionally and, of course, there's a couple of spare jacks if I have any hard-of-hearing company. It has a power supply so no more piles of dead batteries.

I'd recommend it for anyone who wants to get a boost or extra ports for any device. It's amplification is far greater than any of the devices I tried that are made for personal music players. Although it has 1/4" output jacks, you can buy 1/4 to 3.5 adapters for pennies on Amazon and have an amp that will work with the more common size for an incredible price.

I'm using the headphone amp at the end of a cheap 30 foot cable but it still works very well and the volume controls are smooth and without static. The amp puts out more sound than my ears can, or should take. Unlike most of the other devices I tried, it has the power to drive any headphones I want, including noise cancelling. Finally I can enjoy a movie and hear what everyone is saying.

Do not let the size fool you. This is a very handy piece of equipment and it's so easy to set up and use. Just plug a 1/4 inch stereo cable into your sub out on your mixer and then into the HA400, then plug in up to 4 pairs of headphones and your set to track overdubs. This is perfect for a small home studio on a budget and it's built like a tank. Be forewarned that this a very basic headphone distribution system, you can only adjust volume from the HA400 and it would be wise to purchase a real long 1/4 stereo cable and extensions for the headphones if you want to isolate vocals.

Perfecto for My Needs!!! I was looking for an affordable way to use my Audiotechnica headphones on my computer when not using them on my personal music production gear. I just wanted to listen to tunes off my computer using my favorite H-phones. Unfortunately, as you all know, many laptops lack the "umpf" to power a pair of H-phones such as the above mentioned. I looked through the various makes and models considering price and feedback and decided on the HA400. With a price of under $20 and 4 input channels to plug in other things such as my computer speakers, I figured, "Why Not?"

I tested it out as soon as I received it and was not disappointed. There was not just a noticeable difference,.. There was a "Mega-Difference" in volume output! The volume was so high that I was on the verge of blowing out my external pod speakers. I set both the H-phone and speaker levels at my preferred max on each channel and am now using the computer's volume switch as the main volume adjustment...the rest is history.

THINGS I RECOMMEND THAT YOU CONSIDER PRIOR TO BUYING THE HA400!!!

1. Though the thing is compact (will post pics showing the dimensions), it is not portable in the sense that you can listen to it on a road trip or on a bus headed to work. It runs soley on a DC 12 volt adapter and not on batteries.

2. There is no power switch... Be prepared to hook it up to a power strip or buy a cheap foot switch if you want to turn it off using a switch rather than having to unplug it.

3. You will need to buy proper adapters if you are using anything other than 1/4" male plugs. If you want to use 1/8" (3.5mm)standard plug for a portable device such as laptop, then you will need a 1/4" (6.3mm) Male to 1/8" (3.5mm) Female adapter.

4. You will need an Output / Input cord with one end 1/4" (6.3mm) Male to plug between your device and the HA400. It does not come with one.

5. If you are a hardcore anal-retent about your audio quality, (ie. an audiophile), remember that this is not an EQ. All it does is split one output into 4 and amplifies the sound and it does it well.

6. Other posters have experienced some degree of background noise, depending what you pug into it, you may also... As for me, I have yet to experience any discernible background noise. As far as I'm concerned, I'm happy with the pure sound being amplified.

7. Remember that this thing was made for headphones and anything else such as hooking up speakers to it is basically "Jimmy-rigging". I hooked up speakers and had no problems dispite others having some.

8. Again, I rate this item with 5 full stars because it was perfect for my needs. I can see how others may give it a lower rating on the basis that it was not what they expected to fulfill their own needs. As for me, if I could dedicate a song to this unit it would be, THE CARS, "You're Just What I Needed"...LOL.

I bought this unit because I have a movie room setup with surround sound but it is next to one of the bedrooms where my grand children sleep when they come over. We still want to watch movies while they sleep so I bought this amp in order to drive 4 (or more w/splitters) headphones from the main audio amplifier headphone jack on the movie setup. I just use a 1/4" extension cable to feed the Behringer HA400 amp and I am able to feed each headphone set with their own volume settimg limit. To top it off, each headphone has its own volume adjust so each listener can monitor their own loudness while the HA400 keeps the max volume capped to where I set it. The sound for movies is spectacular and this little amp has enough power to hurt your hearing if you let it. I am extremely happy with this little unit. It is small and can easily be moved with the cables as one reviewer has already said but in my situation I used sticky back velcro and attach it to the back of a little end table we have between the chairs. I don't listen to a lot of music through headphones so I really can not give an honest review of that but for movie watching, I Love It.

I just got this little box in order to do a sesson with some of my buds. It seeps to work and sound ok (not extreme amplification) but the power supply plug fits very loosly (hence the low rating) so I had to use a rubber band to hold it in. Seems most Berringer equipment these days is getting lower and lower in quality. This may be my last Berringer purchase. Better off with Roll for this kind of equpment.

There are only two products on the market (that I know of) that provide a STEREO line input for the iPad: The Line 6 Mobile In audio interface, and Sonoma's GuitarJack audio interface. I've owned both, so allow me to compare the two...

The Line6 Mobile In is cheaply constructed in a plastic shell. Even the parts that look like metal in the picture, are just grey plastic. The Mobile In provides two 1/8'' inputs, one for a guitar (it includes an adapter cable) and another for stereo line-in. Only one input will function at a time, I believe (I purchased this purely for the stereo line-in, as I am not a guitar player at all).

The Mobile In DOES NOT WORK for stereo line-in on a new iPad using Garageband or any other audio app I wanted to use it with. Their company claims it's supposed-to, but it doesn't. The stereo input is treated as mono, defeating the entire purpose of why I bought it. Ended up returning the product since I had no faith that their company would be able to resolve the problem in a timely fashion. As I understand it, they still haven't fixed that issue.

IN CONTRAST...

The GuitarJack has solid construction and a sleek metal body. You can immediately tell it's a quality device. Its stereo input worked perfectly on the new iPad, whether it was in GarageBand or the other apps I had used. Note, you may have to configure it in one of their recommended apps first, but that's quick and easy to do. From what I understand, you can use both its 1/4'' guitar input and 1/8'' stereo input at the same time, but I haven't bothered to try that yet.

You can use the GuitarJack directly with the iPad, however you may need to remove whatever case you have your iPad in (as I did with my INVELLOP case). When using the GuitarJack this way, you will need to lay the iPad COMPLETELY flat (as in, not tilted, even a little). The other option is to use an extension cable, which you WILL want to get; even if the iPad and GuitarJack are on a perfectly flat surface, it's still too easy to accidentally disconnect the two. Sonoma markets their own extension cable for the GuitarJack, but it's pricey ($25+). Instead, I purchased a cheap, no-name iPad dock extension cable that is over a foot longer than Sonoma's, one-fifth the price, and works just fine with the GuitarJack.

One annoying thing I found was that when the GuitarJack is connected, the iPad's built-in speaker and headphone jack become disabled, and you need to use the GuitarJack's headphone output to hear *anything*. I understand the input jacks taking precedence over the iPad's built-in mic (and I understand that the iPad's built-in headphone jack can also be used to connect mics) but I really wish it didn't auto-disable the speaker, and acted more as an auxiliary headphone output instead. I wanted to be able to mic monitor without NEEDING headphones, but I usually keep headphones with me anyway, so it isn't thaaaat big of a deal.

Minus one star for making an extension cable a basic necessity (and additional purchase, where they *attempt* to rip you off) as well as the disabled speaker/headphone thing. This is an expensive iPad accessory (it costs about twice as much as the Mobile In), but it's constructed well, looks dope, and, most importantly of all, IT ACTUALLY WORKS!!!

Very solidly built unit, and I'm using the new ipad (ipad 3) with it. Works very well, and the sound is the best that I have heard. I also have an amp kit interface and there is simply no comparison in sound quality to the Guitarjack 2. The amp kit amplifiers and pedals sound awesome though. Sonoma, Four track and Studio track work well for recording with the Guitarjack 2.

My headphones seem to work perfectly using the iPad headphone jack, but have found the Guitarjack 2 headphone output noisy sometimes. Would really like to be able to use Bluetooth headphones, so perhaps this something that could be added as a new feature someday.

Finally, I recommend you also purchase the dock extender, as it offers more flexibility than plugging directly into the iPad.

No regrets on purchasing this unit. It's a keeper!

GuitarJack2 turns my iPhone and iPad2 into a excellent digital recording platform. I can connect a powered mic using one of the 1/8" inputs, a guitar in the 1/4" input, and a headset for monitoring into the second 1/8" input. The device itself is solidly built and the integration software is well designed and easy to use. It's not the cheapest input device (I own one of those, too) but it is the BEST and well worth the money if you're serious about using an iPhone or, particularly, the iPad for recording. Tip: make sure the iPhone/iPad and GuitarJack2 are on a flat surface to ensure a solid connection.

I've really enjoyed the guitarjack model 2. It's rugged and compact enough that I carry it around in my pocket a great deal of the time. I get startling good tones from both my electric guitars and the acoustic/electric ones.

I have an iphone 3gs and have to shut down all the background programs, turn on airplane mode and reboot the phone to keep the sound from crackling, but it's worth this extra step to have such a powerful creative tool. I'm sure this isn't a problem with newer hardware. It's great fun to flip through the amp and pedal combinations and find just the sound you're looking for.

I've been reviewing any audio input device I could get my hands on for iOS since the original iPhone was released, and since the 3G, 3GS and 4/4S, the world of audio input for iPhones, iPads and iPod Touches has become much more complex, but way better!

Use for Audio Recording

The GuitarJack Model 2 seems the perfect fit for almost any kind of audio-only recording in iOS. It works in perfect unison with FourTrack, a very nice multitrack audio recording app for the iPhone (made for this product), and works well with most other audio recorders (I prefer FiRe 2). Stereo or mono, line or mic level, 1/8" or 1/4" (or both at the same time), it's extremely flexible, and the sound levels are great (and adjustable).

The signal quality is great, with no noticable noise, and sounds much better than using analog inputs through the iPhone's headphone jack, and a little better than competing dock interfaces like the Fostex AR-4i.

Use for Video

However, it falls short when you want to use it along with the built-in Camera app, or other video recording apps... this wouldn't be an issue for many people, but a lot of people I know are looking for an awesome dock input that also works perfectly with video recording. It seems that the input sometimes switches from internal mic to the GuitarJack, but not always, when using Camera or some other video recorders. If the GuitarJack worked better with video, I'd give it five stars.

Build Quality

The build quality of this device is excellent; it looks sharp (gun metal finish with a beautiful shine!), feels extremely solid, and doesn't come unplugged unless you give a good pull. For an even more secure fit, put a line of blue or gaffer's tape along the top and bottom to affix it to your iPhone. This is the smallest, but most flexible, and best-looking iOS dock connector audio interface yet.

My Recommendation

If you want to record audio-only, this is the best option. If you want to record video with the GuitarJack, you're in for a world of hurt; look elsewhere.

Aesthetically, these headphones are beautiful. They look amazing and like the article mentioned, I had a hard time choosing between the two colors. I decided to go with the red and blacks. But the color schemes alone take you back to the Jordan days. They feel sturdy and expensive. Just overall, they look and feel definitely like a high end and high quality headphone.

Now on to sound: I think they are great and produce a high quality sound. I feel that they do really well in isolated high treble areas (more vocals and less bass) and they do really well in isolated Bass and beats sounds but when they are combined, the bass tends to fall in the background. I'm a person that loves vocals and lyrics a lot so I notice that a lot. I have a lot of friends that love the beat and bass more than anything and could probably listen to a beat with a random hook. I think people who focus on Bass will not particularly get the full use and feel of these headphones because they amplify everything else involved in the tracks, but, on the other hand, music lovers and eclectic tastes will no doubt be satisfied. That intense sensitivity the article mentions is truly prevalent when listening to well mastered tracks and albums.

I love how you can separate the different components of a song and truly hear the music and sound. I enjoy how it eliminates the outside sound and essentially zones you out from the rest of the world. "Plug in, Fade out" could not be a more perfect slogan, not only because it sounds great but because its very true. I found myself lost in my music while running and have to pull the headphones off my ears a couple times to make sure I wasn't blasting the music to loud to disturb others. I love how they can fit around my entire big-ass ear. I did get a little irritated using them while running but I think that is just from switching from in-ear headphones to over-ear ones. I just need to get used to the feel since I've been using in-ear headphones for the past 5 years or so.

Overall, these headphones have been great. They've helped me escape from the problems and realities of the world, as well as, allowing me to focus on those same issues and life itself. You won't be worried about anything but the music; simply what headphones should do.

Before buying these I was definitely skeptical ... Most headphones these days aren simply hyped up due to the endorsement they receive or the advertising budgets they have. The crown series definitely did not disappoint ... I have a pair of the Beats by Dre and comparing the two ... The beats seem very bass heavy and made out of junky plastic and everyone knows they cost a fortune. Plugged Inc's Crown series hit the nail on the spot. They feel snugg on top of your ears and deliver a perfect blend of highs, mids, and lows. No sloppy bass or hollow treble. You also get a detachable, gold plated cable with track control and a mic which is compatible with the iPhone.

The headphones are loud in design and loud in general. I am looking forward to the rest of their products ... Few things I would hope for (Im sure they are headed in that direction) ... is on OVER the ear headphones ... maybe a carrying case ... and/or customization in the colors. I had seen a favorable review elsewhere and was excited to try this software. I use Airport Express to stream iTunes to powered speakers, so the idea that the software optimizes for either headphones or external speakers was appealing. But what they carefully don't tell you in the product description is that it only works for external speakers that are plugged into the headphone jack. The only hint of this in the description is a reference to "standard" headphones and speakers. I contacted SRS and complained that in this day and age, failure to explicitly state that an audio software product requires a hard-wired connection is deceptive. They replied that they think their description is just fine. They also stated that they have no plans to support audio streaming. So stay away from this product unless you are willing to be cabled in place.

The Rhp-5 are great headphones with good bass and clear sound quality. They are very comfortable for long periods of listing to music or DJ'ing, but there is one downside: IT DOESN'T SUPPORT/WORK WITH SAMSUNG GALAXY S 1.

I was doing a lot of digging online as to which audio interface to purchase for my home rig, and after much deliberation decided to go with the PreSonus Fire Studio Project. When I visited amazon to place the order for the audio interface alone, I saw this little combo-package recommended to me by amazon, and it's perfect. The audio interface is excellent, zero-latency monitoring, 8 balanced input and outputs(XLR & 1/4 combo), along with two 1/4 TRS inputs for line level instruments. The Fire Studio Project also comes with Cubase 4LE, and instructional DVD on Cubase, a sample CD(tons of loops and samples) and some lite versions of some pretty nifty pro VST plugins! In addition to this, you get a lite version of PreSonus' DAW, Studio One, which is an up-and-coming DAW and has received much praise for its functionality and capabilities. Before installing the drivers for the PreSonus Fire Studio Project, I recommend that you go to the Presonus website and download the PreSonus Universal Control FIRST and install it, then install the drivers as directed. I installed the drivers 1st, THEN the Universal Control and had some problems with the audio interface and FL Studio for quite some time before I figured out the order in which I installed the drivers and Universal Control is wrong; install the Universal Control first! It works great now.

The Samson CH700 cans aren't the best headphones ever invented, but it does the job reasonably well and gives you another tool to reference your music. Also, it gives you the ability to monitor your mix while recording, in conjunction with the HP4 by PreSonus. The CH700 usually connects to a 1/8 port, but, included in the packaging are two clip-on 1/4 TRS adapters for use with the HP4 and other professional gear :)

Now, moving on the the HP4; it's a well designed piece of equipment. There are 4 headphone jacks(1/4 connection) a mono switch and monitor mute switch. There is no on/off switch, instead you must unplug the AC adapter from the back to power-off the unit. The warning is in the manual for the HP4(it can get very, very loud, with little distortion too), so be careful when monitoring through headphones; start at 1 and adjust the volume using small increments. It's also built like a tank and I've never read any problems online about it concerning technical difficulties. However, I must be the first person to experience technical problems, because after a few months of use I found that the HP4 presents some problems routing my right channel through my right reference monitor. Sometimes no sound comes out or is very low in my right monitor, or gets distorted a bit, and this can be quite irritating while mixing and, or monitoring. But, I still give these things 5 out of 5, because other than that problem, they perform exceptionally well and I have never read of any problems from this unit, so I'm guessing this is very rare and they typically perform well for most users.

Don't forget to register your software(PreSonus Studio One) and hardware units(HP4 and Fire Studio Project) on the PreSonus website!

I bought this to replace my old setup of a Xenyx 2442fx with 8 outs into a delta 1010LT. I needed something more portable and this was an excellent solution. The preamps seem to be of the same quality, but I favor the Firestudio Project because it has a more clear mid range. I couldn't believe that I could get the Firestudio and the bonus headphones and headphone amp for the same price others were selling just the FS Project.

I'm surprised with the quality of the headphone amp. I was expecting it to degrade the quality of the sound, but if there is any coloration, I haven't noticed.

I've got better headphones so I have hardly used them, but they are definitely good enough that they will be included when I'm working with a larger number of musicians.

The firestudio is just as advertised. Zero-latency, high quality and has a ton of routing solutions. I combined it with my FireStudio Mobile for a total of 10 mic preamps and 6 line inputs. Easy to set up and use. If you need to mic drums on a budget, this will get it done.

Out of the box, the Pignose PG-10 is approximately as mundane as other inexpensive, Pacific Rim beginner amps (e.g. Rogue, Rocktron, Marshall, whatever). As such, it would rate three stars because, as another reviewer noted, it does have a rather nasty transient "thump" on power-up (annoying but not dangerous).

But this little piggy has more hot-rodding potential than many of it's $60 peers because its power amp section (nominally 10-watts into, presumably, 4-ohms (not specified by Pignose)) generates enough current to actually drive the less-efficient but more transistor-friendly 8-ohm load of the premium motor. Note well, hot-rodding an amp voids its warranty.

In my book, it's well worth the trivial actuarial risk of going without the Pignose 1-year warranty IF (and only if) one is interested in practice-level musicality rather than class-average, high-decibel noise. I'm talking silky-smooth, top-to-bottom tonal balance, consistent output, robust bass, and shimmering highs. In short, I'm talking $300+ sound quality IF one is willing to give up the pretense of performance-level volume (not the forte of a 5" x 10-watt amp in any context (laugh)).

This tweaked piggy sounds especially nice with acoustic-electrics (e.g. Fender Sonoran SCE) because it's clean, articulate, and gratifyingly-musical.

Step #1: Carefully remove the four Phillips screws on the back of the PG-10 and gently pry off the flimsy cardboard back with a sharp putty knife.

Step #2: Note the preamp/amp section lacks a protective metal cover, which helps explain the flimsy cardboard back.

Step #3: If you have small children who could, conceivably, stick their angelic little hands inside your soon-to-be open-backed PG-10, bolt the cover back on and return the amp in favor of a PG-20 (which sounds better out-of-the-box). On second thought, best not open it in the first place (laugh).

Step #4: Unsolder the positive and negative speaker leads

Step #5: Carefully remove the four Phillips screws holding the dismal 5" stock speaker in place

Step #6: Slowly re-use the Step #5 screws in the existing holes to gently but firmly seat a 5", 8-ohm Pyle Pro PDMW5 mid-bass driver

Step #6a: If you happen to over-tighten one or more screws and strip it/them out of the MDF fiberboard speaker baffle, take the offending screw to your local hardware store and get one/some slightly fatter ones of the same length

Step #7: Re-solder the speaker leads

Step #8: Use a carpet knife (or any saw-like device short of a chainsaw) to carefully cut (horizontally) the flimsy back cover into two smaller pieces.

Step #8a: Measure 3.5" down from the top for the first cut

Step #8b: Measure 2" up from the bottom for the second cut

Step #8c: Throw away the 2.5" middle chunk

Step #9: Reuse the Step #1 screws to reattach the top and bottom portions of the back

Step #10: Throw away your Pignose warranty card and the dismal speaker (or give it to a deserving kid at Halloween)

Step #11: Give the speaker a good work-out for a few hours to fully break it in and show it who's boss

Step #12: Rock on!

When it arrived, upon turning it on, it made a loud farting noise. Quality control problem.

I have another pig nose G40V that I love. New amp shipped immediately, was OK.
