I'm a musician and singer/songwriter who has recorded in home studios of varying quality and price for years. I currently have a Pro Tools setup on my main music computer but I bought the Yeti Pro because I wanted an easy, portable solution to use with Garageband on my laptop in order to record parts with other musicians on various songs. I have to confess I was skeptical about the quality of a USB mic, but after using it tonight, I may not ever go back to my analog mics. I recorded vocals and acoustic guitar directly from the mic to my laptop with no preamp and the sound is crisp, clear, and brilliant, and captures the nuance in my vocal performance as well over the complete spectrum.* It's also heavy and solid feeling, and gorgeous to boot. If you don't need a professional recording, this mic is probably pricey and not necessary. But for professional podcasters and particularly recording musicians, I can't recommend this mic more, and it's a steal at this price.

PS -this is the first time I've ever been compelled to post a review about ANYTHING. It's that good, folks.

*Note that I'm a female singer with fairly limited range.

This is the best USB mic ever made. The quality is outstanding. Some people say it doesn't sound any different then the orginal Yeti, and I thought that too when I first used it. But then I went to my Mic settings (on Win 7) and I found out the mic was being limited to 48Hz 16 Bit ! I quickly changed it to 96Hz 24 Bit and the difference hit me. It sounds perfect, the exact way my voice sounds. The only thing I don't like is that you need other software for it to work. So I can't just bring it to all my frinds' house and just plug it in to use it. But it is an exceptional mic. If you have the money I highly recommend it.

UPDATE 10/31/12

I've had this microphone for about 18 months now, and I couldn't be happier with it. I have noticed a lot of negative reviews complaining about a "gain" issue. Blue recognized this problem and offered replacements. That was a while ago, so there shouldn't be anything wrong with it today. My mic works wonders when the gain is at 40%. One thing I have noticed is that recordings may have some crackles if you plug the mic into a USB hub that has too many things connected to it. The mic demands a lot of power, and shouldn't be used when other powerful USB devices are connected to you computer (e.g HD webcams, other USB mics, ect.).

A lot of people might look at the price of this microphone and get put off, but they'd make a mistake in doing so. If you are a musician, podcaster, or simply looking for great quality for your vocals, instruments, or whatever sound you want captured, the Blue Yeti Pro will more than do the job.

I'd like to start out by saying the sound quality on this microphone is simply amazing. It easily dwarfs any other USB mic before it, and can even compete with some professional condenser studio mics made by Neumann or Rodes. It's hard to believe this mic is an improvement from the original Yeti, but it is, and by at least 4 times, based on my personal estimation. For $250 this mic can't be beat. You get features in this mic you'd need at least 5 mics for. Oh, and did I mention it's also an audio interface that plays back at a 24-bit, 192khz sampling rate through the headphone port? And it sounds much better than it would on your laptop headphone port. This mic is fantastic and I recommend to anyone looking to do professional work at home.

Update:

For those of you disappointed in the audio quality of the Blue Yeti Pro I have some tips. First and foremost I would like you inform you that the Blue Yeti Pro is a flat response microphone. When you record you're not gonna get any sort of coloration to your input. You should be getting clean, clear, noise free audio. If not you have a defective microphone and I suggest getting it exchanged.

Now that we have that out of the way I'd like o give you tips on how to get a nice, rich, studio quality sound. Here's tip 1: Add gain. Tip 2: Compress. Tip 3: Equalize. Tweak until it sounds pleasant to your ears. Believe me, once you mess with the sound it will be a whole lot better. That's how I know the Blue Yeti Pro is a good microphone. Good microphones do not color your audio.

I'm writing this to help save time for those looking to get a pro level USB mic as I spent quite a bit of time reading reviews (amazon and pro music reviews) listening to mic shootouts and leg work on USB microphones so I though I would see if I can help others save some time. I'm a bit retentive when it comes to my audio gear. I spent 10 years looking for the perfect studio monitors and finally found a slice of heaven in the ADAM s3A's.

Beware the negative reviews as it looks as though they could be user error. Im using on a mac and both mics were flawlessly plug and record nothing to do at all.

I have a professional recording studio and consider my 20 years of listening experience worthwhile in doing an unbiased review.

My goal was to find a usb microphone able to perfectly capture vocals and instruments without adding color (anything but the pure sound) to use with my ipad for audio work.

Microphones and monitors are very subjective in my opinion . Different people like the way different gear sounds. I was simply looking for sonic clarity and depth.

I settled on the Blue Yeti Pro and the MXL 009 and bought them both. I surmised these were the two top picks (based on user and pro reviews) out of the 5 or so at the top including the non pro yeti.

This is my first time owning a blue or MXL mic. I have a couple of Shure ksm44's and a few Neumanns

I ran a series of comparisons between the Yeti Pro, THe MXL 009 and my goto in the studio which is the ksm44 running through an Avalon ad2022 pre through an RME Fireface UFX into an 2011 Imac. I used two sets of headphones and my monitors to listen to the audio recorded. As set of audio technica m50s, and a pair of Sony MDR7509's and the s3a's. I recorded vocals, shakers and tuning forks at both 48k 16bit and 24bit 96k sample rates to see if it made a difference. It does make a difference but its slight and if you were making a song you probably couldn't tell in the mix. If you were doing a podcast or talkshow you woud notice slightly richer deeper clarity with the 96k 24bit setting.

The results were very surprising to me mostly because I was blown away that a $300 microphone can compete with 7K in studio gear. I think I need to tell Toto were not in Kansas anymore. Rating scale 10 = amazing 1=Sucks

The Yeti Pro If you are looking to get just one mic then this is your pick because of its feature set. Its built like a tank. Has the 4 different switching options which is very useful for getting different sounds. You could put it on a table for an interview and hear both people as an example. Also has standard xlr out, could be nice if you want to use it with standard gear. The stereo out is a nice feature (unless you want mono).

Features = 10

Easy of Use = 10 quick adjustments of gain and are forgiving if your not spot on.

Set up = 10 ( I literally just plugged it in and selected it in logic pro used to record the audio)

Sound Quality = 8 The MXL009 was a bit more transparent and honest with the sound.

Accessories = 9 desk stand is rock solid and cool looking

Look and Feel = 8 Very nice looking and solid feeling but kinda bulky. Sexy sitting on the desk if you care. They get -2 points as the Blue logo was slightly off level which most people probably would not or could not notice. (retentive)

The MXL 009 If you want the best sounding Mic and dont care about the rest this is your mic.

Features = 7 (lack of traditional xlr out limits to digital use)

Easy of Use = 7 You need to get your gain levels set prior to using or you will get pops and clicks in your audio. This could be a bummer if you just did a big long take and now have to edit to remove a few clicks. Set your gains and you will be without issue. ( would be nice if they had a clipping indicator on the mic since this is such a big issue). Maybe they will correct it with a soft or firmware update.

Set up = 10 ( I literally just plugged it in and selected it in logic pro used to record the audio)

Sound Quality = 10 The MXL009 was a bit more transparent and honest with the sound. It is really a beautifully accurate mic.

Accessories = 9 desk stand is rock solid but not as cool looking as the yeti. Its a basic stand. It comes with a cool metal case if you travel with your mics.

Look and Feel = 9 Very nice looking and solid feeling. The blue led is a nice touch to show its connected

The verdict is that they all sound amazing. If you were not doing a sise by side A/B you would miss the subtle differences. The Shure has a slight lead for overall sound but the MXL009 is not far behind and the Yeti pro is right up there with them. Its not quite as good sonically but as far as getting bang for your buck the yeti pro is an amazing choice for everything you get for less than $300. Unbelievable! My hats off to both companies for such great products.

I am keeping them both unfortunately as they are that great for different reasons.

First of all, I just want to say that this mic is definitely amazing. I will keep this as short and precise as possible.

PROS:

USB and XLR capabilities

4 pattern polar selector

Triple condensor capsule

microphone input jack

CONS:

Slightly heavy weight

Slightly flimsy pattern and gain knob

In regards to the gain being too low once the mic is put into the DAW, for some reason the great people at Blue had made the factory setting for the microphone gain to input at -23 dB. That is so low the vocals are barely audible. The only way to fix this (on a Mac) is to go into the UTILITIES under Finder and select the MIDI APP. Once in there select the input and output options and turn the MASTER VOLUME all the way to normal or 1. This should fix the problem on the Mac, there should be a similar solution to PC I will check and see shortly.

Hope this review helps!

I visited Guitar Centre to check some digital drums to add to my home studio. Luckily I met an experienced drummer (also a customer) in the shop who told me these were the best and also at a great price. I bought them on Amazon to save some money. I've now had them 3 weeks. No problems. Easy to set-up. Feels like I'm playing a real kit with the advantage that I can turn down the volume and not annoy the wife! I have not recorded them onto my studio tracks yet but so far they are great!!

Living in an apartment in the city, I used to have a regular acoustic drum kit, but wasn't a fan of the neighbors, who called the cops on me more than once. I sold the kit and used the money to buy this electronic kit on the recommendation of a friend. I'm so glad I did! This is a great value for the money, and is perfect for apartment living. It's compact (taking up MUCH less space than the old acoustic kit), and even folds up if you need to stick it in a closet. It's got 32-preset kits, over 200 unique drum sounds, a metronome, pre-loaded songs (which you can remove the drum track or isolate the bass to play along with), and several unique features to help you improve your playing. The pads have a nice feel, with solid rebound, very similar to an acoustic kit. It even comes with a bass pedal -a $70 value.

You'll need an external amp to generate sound, but it also has a headphone jack if you want to jam into the night and not get a visit from the police. It has an aux input for a cd or mp3 player, so you can play along with your favorite songs as well.

If you're a serious drummer, you're gonna want an acoustic kit. But this is a great practice kit, or a great kit for people who live in a city apartment (like me). I can't say enough about this kit. Great value, a great product.

So i just bought a dtexplorer and so far its been great. I have heard good things about them and needed an electric set to practice with to not disturb my room mates. The set feels great and sounds great. It has 32 pre set drum settings but i have only found that maybe 5 or 6 of them are actually useful, some of them are just weird but fun to play around with. If you need an electric set to practice i would highly suggest this set, because it sounds great and the price is right. Although if you are a professional and need one to record, or are in need of a really technical set this isnt for you. there are a few problems i have found so far. the first is that the hi hat peddle isnt very responsive but not too bad. another is that the lug nuts come loose now and again. other than that though the set is great.

Want Yamaha DTX500K Electronic Drum Kit Discount?

I'd recommend this kit to any drummer who lives in an apartment building or has roommates. Not exactly a high end electronic kit, the DTXplorer nevertheless does its job: it allows you to play and practice in relative silence. The kit is very simple and small, which is great because it takes up very little space and is very portable. For the price, it makes an excellent practice kit. You can run the kit through an amp to create sound, or you simply plug in your headphones and reduce the volume even more. An AUX jack allows you to plug in an mp3 player so you can rock out to your favorite songs. There are about 30 or so drum sounds to select from, but more than half are fairly useless and/or too bizarre to be helpful.

Despite the usefulness of this kit, it does have a few problems you'd expect for the price. The bass drum has a weird "lip" that prevents you from using your own pedals (at least, none of MY other pedals would work). You have to use the pedal supplied, which is fairly low quality. The hi hat pedal is probably the worst part of the kit. It's response is awful, so making hi hat "chirp" sounds is harder than it should be. Complicated open/shut hi hat patterns will sound pretty bad. Also, the kit is not expandable with the current brain. There are only enough inputs for the drums provided, so what you get is what you will have forever.

All in all, I'd say get this if you want a cheap but serviceable practice set. I think it's been well worth the money I spent. I can practice much more than I used to, and it still works great even after a year of heavy use. I think it's a great buy if you don't expect miracles.

After awhile researching the various options, I'm pleased with my purchase of the Yamaha DTXplorer. I was tempted by the Roland TD-4K, which is more expensive. But while we were at the drum store trying out the various models, my kids gravitated more towards the Yamaha. As a drummer in my college years, I wanted something for myself, but also a kit to inspire my children to play. The Yamaha had some fun sounds that, at least in the store, I couldn't get out of the Roland. I really do enjoy the feel of playing this kit. As mentioned by another reviewer, the hi-hat is not always as sensitive as it could be (but it may just require more adjustment). With this set you cannot choke the cymbals and do other things like on the Roland, but I do enjoy jammin' to classic rock tunes on my iPod. And, the kids are playing it as well. In general, I wish they would add a feature whereby you can download additional drum sounds or even kits from specific drummers. The Charlie Watts/Keith Moon/Neil Peart collection....Imagine the possibilities.

I thought I could just use this simple cord for my iPod shuffle to connect to my car stereo, but after 1 month, it is shot. Sound goes in & out, not clear, seems loose but it's not. On to seach for better quality.

I ordered this cable on Nov. 2 and did not get it until Nov. 28. The problem was that it got lost in the mail and had to be reshipped. CrazyOnDigital did a great job dealing with the shipping problems. My problem is with the quality of the product. When you plug the cable into a port, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I think that the male part of the connector is not making contact like it should while in the port. If you wiggle the cable around and plug it in about 10 times, it will start working. When it does work, it is great. When it doesn't work, it is a pain in the butt. If you accidentally bump the cable while it is plugged in, you can really mess up the sound that is coming through the cable. I say buy at your own risk. The quality of sound is great when it does work, it just a lot of trouble getting it to work. But what can you expect when you pay a penny for a cable.

I purchased two of these to use in my car and on the road to hook my MP3 player into a car stereo. They are of a very poor quality and make static whenever the cable is moved in any way. Cable move a lot in portable installation in moving vehicles. Thus, I'm throwing both away as they aren't useful. If you were connecting two components that didn't move at all, this might be an OK cable, but personally, I would invest in a higher quality product.

This little wonder will enable you to take your favorite tunes on the road. I bought one for my mother. Her car radio has an audio input jack. She simply plugs one end into the radio and the other into the iPod nano and voilà music. Don't be fooled by others selling this product for 2x-10x the price: it's just a simple cord.

My father bought this amp on the strength of Roland's reputation. He used it on four gigs with his jazz/pop quartet in a small lounge, playing a Yamaha piano. I am sorry to say that he, I and the rest of the band found the sound of this amp thin and lacking in headroom to the extent that every dynamic flourish and most low notes were unpleasantly distorted. We returned to the store and A/B'ed this amp with the identical floor model, a cheaper Ampeg bass amp, and a more expensive Markbass Micro. After finding the floor model performing identically and thus ruling out a product defect, he settled on the Markbass Micro which costs $150 more but sounds easily 6 times louder and cleaner, with no fuzz. It is a quarter the size to boot! However even the Ampeg combo same size and $80 less outperformed the Roland. Bottom line: Maybe OK for synths, or lower volume, but this amp cannot handle piano as should be expected for the price, compared to others in its class.

The title should say it all. They aren't as comfy as my beats when used for more than 3 hours but the thumping bass, crisp vocals, and thundering electric guitar riffs sound almost as good (on some songs even better) than my precious $200 beats solo hds. Do I prefer these smokin buds over my beats? No, but these are as good as earbuds can sound for a super reasonable price. Been using skullcandy smokin buds for 3 years now and they never let me down, and the warranty rocks, check it on skullcandy's website to see for yourself. Make sure you buy the newer version with the 11mm drivers, not the older 9mm ones. I recently upgraded to the 11mm version and even though I loved my older ones, the new 11mm ones definitely pack a little extra punch and also have the in-line mic with play/pause/skip that really comes in handy. Also, these include a "travel case" but it's too small and hard to use so if you really need a good carry case you should buy a bluecell one on amazon like I did. It's much easier to use and only costs 5 bucks.

I received these ear buds through SkullCandy's warranty program (which, by the way, is AMAZING and I'm giving these an extra star because of.) I read reviews that these had more bass response than my previous skullcandy headphones, which were the Ink'd series.

If you don't know how to equalizer your smartphone/iTunes/etc, don't get these. The mids are so high they muddy the tone horrendously. I will say that their frequency response is better than Ink'd, but Ink'd has cleaner tone right out of the box.

My teen son saw these in an airport store for $35 and was going to purchase them, but I showed him how we could get them much cheaper on Amazon. The headphones seal in the ear well and produce very good sound. Adequate bass, solid highs. The microphone for use with a cell phone is a nice bonus. The only issue we had is that they only lasted for 2 months before failing. They started getting very scratchy and distorted, at which point they became garbage. My teen doesn't abuse headphones, and other (cheaper) headphones have lasted longer for him.

I've read countless reviews on every top DJ headphone out there from the iconic Sony MDR-V700DJ to the A & H Zone:XD-53's and everything else in between, and I've decided to give Numark a try. My gamble was worth it: these headphones are some of the best all around cans out there for an incredible price!

PROS:

Build: solid build, metal adjustable bands, and VERY solid multi-pivot points. Read any forum on Sony and Pioneer headphones and a majority of the users complain that the pivots break or crack. I find that unacceptable for anything you buy, especially when you are investing $100+ for it. The Red Waves have VERY SOLID pivots with minimal fasteners (that is key to breakage) and feel like they will hold up even to the most rigorous use.

Sound: I think most DJ's appreciate a full sounding set of cans over a bass hog. Yeah, bass in tha face is always cool, but after a while it can get annoying. I've tested all kinds of cans and I prefer a clean, crisp even sound over a heavy bass. The Red Waves definitely have a full base, but not one that sounds over-powered. The mids and highs are especially clean and definitely enhance the music, especially if you listen to garage house or vocal R & B. You need the beats, but it helps to hear the voices as well.

I've used these with my iphone as well and they sound fantastic. They drivers are strong enough to deliver a great sound with strong volume without any distortion (well, pump ANY headphone up to 11 and guaranteed you'll crest that distortion, but hey, I want my hearing for the rest of my life).

Comfort: along with a great build, these also feel great, even over long periods of time. I've gone several hours with them on and they felt fantastic. With excellent pivots and a flexible head band, the Red Waves will retain a high comfort level, even if you have a big head like mine!

Cable Length: The Red Waves come with an extra long cable built with a thicker gauge wire than normal. The bayonette clip that goes into the headphone ensures that it will not detach accidentally while providing the flexibility to replace the cord if you break/cut it. The 90 degree receiver is also a nice touch since most mixers have the headphone jack on the front face, allowing you to be flush and clean (works great with my NS7FX).

Price: if you've done your research, most pro DJ headphones can hover well above the $150 mark (Pioneer, Seinnheiser, Allen & Heath, Shure). Heck, go look up Monster Pro Beats and you can buy 2-3 nice cans for the price of ONE of those! The Numark Red Waves are priced just below the $100 mark, a price point that not only is considered affordable (without cheaping out) and with an expectancy of great performance and build.

CONS:

Leather: okay, they are comfortable, but the leather, though they claim is breathable, was still sweaty. Remember, these are over-ear headphones they cover the entire ear and cup against your head. Maybe it's just me, but I did find them a little sweaty. If you flip from one ear to two from time to time, then you may not encounter this.

Cable Length: The long cable length is great for DJ'ing, but when you want to listen to your iphone/ipod, that long cable can become a nuisance. Granted you can tie it up with a velcro strap, but it's still in the way. Fortunately, you can always buy an inexpensive shorter cable from The Source or Wal-Mart (hint: look for an mp3 cable used for in-car hook ups). I bought a Griffen 3 ft. flat cable that works GREAT when I just want to wear my Red Waves around with my iphone.

Sound Bleed: if you plan on using the Red Waves for your daily commute, be warned that they will leak if you like your music LOUD. They still isolate sound with a high degree, but hit the 75% volume range and up and guaranteed the person beside you will be able to hear what your listening to.

Overall, I find the Numark Red Waves DJ Headphones a solid investment and a true performer. The Red waves will easily compete with the Pioneers and Sonys out there and all at a GREAT (Amazon) price!!!! You won't be disappointed!

I wouldve given this a 4 1/2 if I could.

The comfort on these are top notch. I have worn them for 3 hours with little issue besides getting a little sweaty. They are flexible comfortable, but still sturdy.

Theirs alot of low end coming through so your going to have to tweak your EQ if you dont like that much bass, however, its there if you need it.

The price point is amazing, somehow Amazon has these for 81 bucks when everyone else is 100. These definately stand up against 100, or some 150 dollar headphones ive listened to.

The look is also great, these just look cool, they are bigger then expected, and stand out in a crowd (which is what you want when spinning at a club)

The high end can start clipping a little at high volume which is the only complaint I have, but thats when I was pushing them. However this problem was so minute that I only gave it a 4 out of 5, and like I said, would give it a 4 1/2

Bottom Line, Your not going to find a pair of cans for DJ's of this quality for this price. These are a great set of headphones, with good sound and great comfort.

I purchased this item 2 months ago and when i first opened the box i was delighted to see that they actually look pretty well made and kinda cool ( a little big for my taste but still better then most ) When i first started listening to them my first impression was TOO MUCH BASS... and i mean not the good kind of bass, its not punchy or acurate, its more like a subwoofer thats just booming in ur head... So i decided to go for something much more respectful and got the Sennheiser HD 25-1 II... So now 2 months later when i'm finished burning in the sennheisers and did a little test. I was listening to some trance (EDM) and i suddenly saw my Redwaves sitting lonely at the desk, so i unplugged the HD 25 from the mixer and plugged the Redwaves... The difference was SO DRAMATIC that it made me come here and post a review...

So my overall oppinion:

-Redwaves look nice... A little to big but nice overall

-The build quality is superb... for such a low price tag they have metal core and very nice plastic on top with some leather on the headband... I havent used them alot, maybe less than a month but still they look like they will last a long time....

-The cable is very long which is nice, but its not coilled which can be a problem...

-They come with a nice leather bag to carry them around

-The one thing that just ruins them is the sound... I know the price tag is low etc. but FOR ME they just don't do the job... they are very muffled, the bass is awflly strong and it gets in the way of the mids and highs and the clarity is missing...

So if you are an avarage user who don't care much about the sound he is getting and just want cool looks and nice build quality with a very low price tag this will suit you very nice!

But beware! Don't make my mistake and think you can get away with cheaper headphones and still get the full package... You can't... I know the sennheisers i got are almost 3 times the price but they are in a whole different galaxy in the sound quality... I WILL GIVE YOU A VERY SIMPLE EXAMPLE ( you will understand me better if you are a DJ ). WHEN I LISTEN TO MY SENNHEISERS EVERYTHING SOUNDS CLEAR AND PUNCHY AND I CAN BEATMATCH AND MIX EVEN 3-4 TRACKS TOGETHER IN THE LOUDEST OF AREAS... WHEN I SWITCHED MY HEADPONES AND STARTED USING THE REDWAVES THE MUSIC SOUNDED LIKE I WAS USING A LOW PASS FILTER ON IT... JUST MUFFLED....

I hope this has been helpfull :) P.S. They are still better then my in-ear beats by dre (got them as a present... will never buy them on my own)

I was shopping around for a pair, looking to spend under 100 dollars. I found these, and kept them close in mind while shopping, due to the low average price and the all around stellar reviews. One day, I happened to pop on to amazon, and they had randomly dropped to 55 dollars. DONE. SOLD. I purchased them on the spot.

They arrived quickly (4 or 5 days from time of ordering), and I have to say, they have lived up to the reviews as much as I could've possibly hoped for. These are definitely some of the best headphones I've ever used, hands down.

The build quality is top notch. Sturdy and solid, but not bulky or too heavy. The ear pads are definitely some of the most comfortable I've worn. The padding on the underside of the top band also makes wearing them for extended periods of time a breeze. I also like the fact that they fold in on themselves, making them very compact and easy to store in the included carrying bag (which is made of some very high quality leather as well). The detachable cable is also a nice feature. They also look sharp as hell. I love the styling on these (I only wish they were available in more colors, maybe custom colors, but hell, I can definitely deal).

Onto where they really shine: The sound quality. I am by no means an audiophile, but these blow just about everything else I've listened to out of the water. Some of the richest, deepest bass I've ever heard, without being thumpy, distorted, or overpowering. The mid's are crisp and the high's are clean and clear. Outstanding all around. The sound isolation is also quite good as well. Their overall sound is definitely balanced towards the bassier end of the scale however, so keep that in mind for your personal preference.

All in all, these headphones are an absolutely amazing value, and can easily compete with sets in the $200 dollar range. 5 stars, all around.

I am not a DJ but I wanted over the ear headphones to listen to music and movies on my home laptop or iPhone. I like bass and I think the price of the Monster Beats is way too high. I saw this online for $62 and after reading the reviews I thought I would take a chance. I'm glad I did! It sounds just as good as Monster Beats Studio that I have tested. It also has the detachable cord so you can swap it out if it frays or get a shorter cord.

The Bass is great and the mid level is good as well. The treble is not even close to what Bose or other top brands for audiophiles but I am not a audiophile so not a big deal to me. I mostly listen to music with Bass like Deep House anyway.

I also bought a 3 ft red flat griffin cord for my iPhone and it works good. The 10ft cord is little too long in my opinion.

Pros:

* Good Bass

* Price

* Design

* Build Quality (Glossy Plastic and some metal)

* Headphone case

* Versatile (It can move in many directions. Great for DJs.

Cons:

* Cord is too long

* Your ear area can get hot from the leather

* Mediocre Treble

There is no information in the product details of this splitter that indicates in detail what it does. It splits one stereo output to two mono outputs. So if you want to share listening to music with a friend, this is not the jack for you.

Price is about right for a great little product to share with your spouse or partner while traveling I bought this so we could watch a movie on a I-pad durning a flight to Las Vegas. Did not affect the sound and both of us didn't have to share 1/2 of an earphone.

I've had various travel guitarsI have a Taylor Big Baby, and used to own a Martin Backpackerbut I was looking for something that was more portable than eithersomething small enough to pack inside a suitcase and carry on vacation. I wasn't looking something with great sound, or something stageworthy, just something with a full sized neck to practice on when I was away from home.

I tried one of the Travelers that comes with both piezo and magnetic pickups at a local guitar discount chain, and I liked the feel (though not the painted finish); it was the only model they had, so I decided to do a buit more research into the range. Back home, I looked at the Traveler Guitars web site, and this model caught my eyeno electronics, piezo pickup only, but it was light, tiny, and came in an attractive natural finish. And the price was right, too. I decided to chance it.

It arrived this morning, and I've been playing with it most of the day. Fit and finish is very good, if simple, and the feel of the neck is excellent. The neck in particular shows a lot of care, with all the frets carefully hand-filed and shapedno sharp edges here, like on so many inexpensive imports. Traveler is either doing a lot of QC on these guitars when they arrive, or they've found a really good shop to produce them.

Despite the odd shape and lack of a headstock, it's easy to play. I found that a strap was more comfortable for me than the clip-on lap support, but thanks to the light weight, even without the strap or the lap support it's easy to hold.

Plugged into a standard guitar ampa Tech21 Trademark 30the sound was not very goodtoo much of that piezo twang, and an uneven balance. But plugged into the high-impedance (10 megohm) input of my Acoustic Image Contra, the sound was surprisingly goodbetter than a lot of much more expensive, piezo outfitted instruments I've tried. Using my K&K Preamp with a short (6") patch cord also delivered a much improved sound.

In summary, I'm very happy with this guitar (in fact, I've got in on my lap as I type this). It's tiny enough to travel everywhere, and with the right amplification, it sounds very good. In fact, I'm thinking the Traveler bass guitar might be a nice addition to the collection, too.

This is no Strat. It is no Dreadnaught. But it is a very nice little practice guitar. Fit and finish make it a real musical instrument, not a toy. Stays in tune. Sounds very good through a Rowland Micro Cube amp. I haven't found a satisfactory headphone amp yet.

First of all I love this as a travel guitar. And I'm considering adding other models to my collection, even though I don't really need them. It took me a while to decide if I wanted the Original Escape, the Pro, or the Ultra Light-Acoustic or Electric. In the end I bought the Ultra-light Acoustic.

I wanted something super small so I wouldn't have some excuse not to take it with me on long overseas trips. I really liked the Pro, but I wasn't thrilled about the little wooden leg support. And unlike my ultra-light which I have the option of not using, the pro-needs the wooden leg attached to work, and it seems like it would take more time to set up. The metal leg brace on the ultra pops in a second (it looks weird but it works nicely!)

And there are a few reports of the pro and the wood brace cracking as well. So I decided to stay away from it.

The ultra Light has a nice ebony fretboard, the tuning is a little odd, but you quickly get used to it. Changing strings takes a little getting used to but isn't really a problem. The Guitar seems to stay in tune very well and the neck was nice and straight with no Truss adjustments needed..

There is no volume adjustment, so you need to adjust the volume from your amp. Sounds from the Pizo pickup is good, and when I went into my VOX AC-30 with a little overdrive sounded just like an electric guitar...

My major issue was the the string action, admittedly I like really low string action on acoustics and ones that tend to play like electrics(I like taylor acoustics for this reason). But the action as shipped was usable at the low frets, but at the higher frets above about 12 made flat picking a chore.

However I simply adjusted the saddle (basically a guitar setup procedure where you file/sand down the saddle until you get to the string height). If you know how to do this aready it is pretty easy on this guitar as the saddle is removable, if not then any guitar shop/Luthor will do it for you.

Once I adjusted this, I love the feel. I have acoustic strings on it and it feels a lot like my Les Paul or my Taylors. (Note it has a 24 1/2" scale which is on the low side of what is considered a standard. Les Pauls are ~24 3/4, Strats are 25 1/2". But it is certainly normal, not short like some of the other funky travel guitars out there.

To compare, I did first buy a Washburn Rover which had glowing reviews, however I thought it was a piece of junk. Very toy like and had terrible neck feel and string action. Returned it right away. However this is a very playable guitar even for an experiance guitarist like my self. Good for travel and just practicing on the couch.

However be aware that with acoustic strings you aren't going to get much sound out of it without an amp (compared to a normal acoustic). I don't really care since I often play or practice my electrics not plugged in. So this probably isn't for you if you want to sit around the campfire and entertain. However I would recommend for an easy guitar to take with you anywhere.

In it's case it is really small and easily carried over shoulder and can be wedged into a tight space in a bag bin on an airplane. Looks kind of like a short shotgun when in it's case..

Want Traveler Guitar Ultra-Light Acoustic-Electric Travel Guitar with Gig Bag Discount?

The Traveler Ultra Light serves it's purpose as an easily packable full-scale travel guitar. Put on a decent strap and it's not hard to get use to playing. The problem I have encountered is that it does not have a built in headphone amp and I haven't found one that is very compatible with it. The Pocket Rock-it sounds pretty good but the positioning and size of it make it awkward to use since it gets in the way of your strumming arm. I bought a Dean Markley travel amp with a 3" speaker and it doesn't sound very good with the piezo pick-up on the guitar. Its very "quacky" and plastic sounding. Plugged into a full-size amp, this guitar sounds great but that kind of defeats the purpose of the travel concept. I have never tried the Traveler Pro-Series, which has the piezo pick-up, single coil pick-up and stethophone or the Traveler Escape, which has a built in headphone amp but I would recommend those over the Ultra-Light. The materials on the Ultra-Light are high quality and it is very well made so I would think other products from this company are as well. I will probably buy another Traveler brand guitar in the future.

After looking at many of the travel guitars I decided to purchase the Traveller Ultra-light. At 3 pounds and 28 inches it fits nicely into my 28" rolling airline bag. The quality is excellent. I use it with a laptop computer as an amp while on the road. I am very happy with this Guitar.

I bought this cord to attach my iPhone to the car Aux port. This was about the 3rd cord I had been through with the previous cords being cheaper alternatives that end up getting shorts in them near the connector ends. So far I am very pleased with this cord. You can tell its higher quality (though affordable) than the cheaper alternatives out there. Length is perfect for my use and the connector ends are large enough to be sturdy, but small enough to fit in the phone with a case on.

I purchased this right before a road trip and it has worked out perfectly! I used it to connect my car radio to my Droid smartphone. The sound quality is great and it's a good length for a car. The jack is also slim, which might help for large phone covers. Also, delivery was very quick! A good buy for a great price!!

I was looking for this kind of cable to hook my Ipod Nano to my Toyota Yaris stereo system. I found very flimsy cables that were very expensive. Then I came across this one, the price is low, the cable itself is sturdy and thick which will prevent it from breaking and fraying, and the most important part; it works great. I read reviews on similar products; people were concerned about crackling and buzzing as well as the sound stopping if the cable moved a fraction (which will happen quite often in a moving vehicle.) I tried this cable and I'm happy to report I didn't experience any of the previous issues. Very satisfied with the price and the performance. As for the aesthetics, yes, I know it's just a cable, but it's designed to look like something that Apple made (starting with the white color, and simple lines.)That's just a plus, but every bit makes a difference. Hope this review was helpful, guys.

After looking at several other products including docking stations and fancy schmancy hookups, I ordered this simple, inexpensive cord to attach my iPad to my home stereo system. After all that research I cannot believe the solution to my dilemma was this simple. Works like a charm. One end of the cord plugs into the iPad where headphones would, and the other end plugs into my stereo in the AUX input. I was worried that because the iPad isn't charging while hooked up to the stereo that it would drain the battery and I'd run out of juice mid-playlist, but I was wrong. Using the iPod function hooked up to the stereo for HOURS only used about 3% of the battery. (Anyone reading this who uses the iPad for books will understand why I'd worrybooks drain the battery WAY faster than the iPod function.) My advice to anyone looking to hook up an iPad to a home stereocheck to make sure you have the appropriate input hole in your stereo, then skip all the expensive gee-gaws and doo-dads and buy this cord. NB: My stereo is in the equipment closet, so I don't need the iPad to sit in the room looking pretty while playing. If you are way into aesthetics, you may want to consider another option.

I bought this cable to connect my iPod Touch to my car's AUX port. It's an excellent, high-quality cable and does the job perfectly. I purchased the shorter 4 ft. length because my AUX port is located inside the center console armrest which keeps the cable and iPod Touch out of site. When I first saw the price I was concerned that it was another cheap knock-off cable but after reading all the reviews I knew that was NOT the case. This cable is very sturdy with strong connections, it is reasonably priced, and will last a long time. I'm very happy with this purchase and will not hesitate to purchase again from BlueRigger.

I broke my previous amp, and I wasn't ready to just spend another 200 for a bass amp, so I looked around, try to find something within 100 dollars and this along with other ones such as the fancy VOX with built in drum-beats came up.

I ended up choosing this one and I have to say, this is a really nice amp, it can get really loud (although people have said sustained loud volume will blow it) and the sound quality is comparable to the last one i owned (it was 150 dollars)

However, this amp does not have the presence knob as shown in the picture, there's only Bass, Middle, Treble, and Volume knobs, so keep that in mind, not that I care about the presence knob anyway, but i thought other people should know.

As a Mobile DJ, I do lots of weddings so I needed a case that is study as well as attractive. This case fits the bill nicely.

Pros: This case is well built, as I've come to expect from Odessy. It's big enough to provide plenty of protection for my Denon mixer and still have room for all of my cables and even a surge protector so that I only need to run one plug to hook up all of my most needed tabletop electronics.

Cons: There is no portal for running cable from the mixer out of the case. I don't know whether this is a design flaw or an over-site but by not having that my cabling situation is a little cumbersome having to run the mixer power cable and speaker cable to the front of the case then down to the main power supply and speakers. A portal in the back of the case would have been neater. Had I know this, I would have selected a different case but all in all, I'm satisfied. For this reason, I'm only rating the case 4 stars.

Wonderful product at a wonderful price. I use these patch cables on my pedal board, which I don't move around too much, or I should say, don't swap the pedals around, so they are seldom disconnected then reconnected. I purchased this amplifier to hook up to my church's digital piano and ran a wire across the church and placed the amplifier beside the organ I play. This allows me the opportunity to hear the instrument I am playing along with. This amplifier is very effective for its purpose. I only turn it up between 2-3. I was somewhat skeptical about this amplifier due to the low price, but it works well with no feedback. I would highly recommend this product if you are a musician or playing in a medium-sized room. Do not let the low Amazon price keep you from purchasing this great product.

My son has a concert keyboard. Bought it for him and was concerned because of the lower price than similar items. It has worked very well for practice or performance. I'm not an expert. MAybe the much higher priced items do something that thia doesn't but I can't imagine what.
