So, I priced out several amps, and for me, this one was head and shoulders above the competition.

I needed a dual input, because the guitar I am playing is a hybrid bass/guitar (low 3 bass strings/high 4 guitar strings) much like the one Charlie Hunter plays.

The only thing that is slightly confusing, is that it is a dual channel (2 inputs, so can play guitar and bass through it at once, or guitar and a microphone etc...) but there are 2 inputs for either channel, a low/high, and the 2 page instruction manual doesn't fully explain the differences of running an instrument through them (and my bass side actually sounds marginally better through the 'high' not the low)

It is surprisingly light for it's size, which I think is prolly why it is soo inexpensive. But for me, this is a totally fine, and quite loud, practice amp. The only slight complaint I have is that the bass could sound fuller. I also have no need for the distortion/reverb that is offered on the dials, but don't think that they are too quality either.

If you want something pro-quality, this is not the item, however if you just want to get loud, and need a dual channel, this was the best one that I saw for the price, and it 100% fulfills my needs. Please feel free to check out my music, and get in touch if you have any followup!! OOH Yea! It also arrived in like 24 hours, and I selected free/regular shipping!! Amazing :)

who ever wrote the review about the amps distortion oviously cannot play. the amps out put is 80 watts but can be increased to 160 watts with an effects pedal. it needs a marshall footswitch to switch between channels and sounds best with a bc rich mockingbird or a jaxville special/custom series 2. it is a great buy and its the best amp for its price/size

Dont get me wrong. This is a relatively cheap and good amp for playing Jazz or clean sounds. You wont get a better price for an amplifier this loud.

Do not attempt to use this for Distortion. You will not get that warm Marshall/Fender/Mesa Boogie sound from this amp even if you use a good floor board with it.

If you're a student learning how to play jazz/country/anything without distortion, this is a good investment.

Otherwise, dont buy it.

Want Pyramid GA610 Guitar Amplifier (600-Watt Dual Channel) Discount?

I purchased this amp after searching for a used Radio shack mps-50 guitar amplifier which I had used in the past. After finding the pyramid GA610 on amazon I noticed the resemblance to the radio shack mps-50 I used to own. After looking at it on amazon I realized it is basically the same amp different Name, manufacturer. The differences I have noticed after buying it are chrome knobs, different faceplate and metal grill on the front of the amp. Everything else looks the same as the radio shack mps-50 made by radio shack years ago. I purchased this amp because of the dual channel , I can play guitar on 1 channel and plug in a unidirectional microphone on the 2nd channel. I plan on using this amp for small gigs. This amp I believe is more in the 60 watt range like the radio shack model. I don't know how they come up with 600 watt as advertised. This amplifier is plenty loud for a large room. overall I am happy with this amp after trying it out it fits my current needs. If you want 1 amplifier the dual channel is a plus for vocal and guitar for small gigs.

For a less expensive amp it does the job very well and I would recommend it for the beginner artist.
