I've had these for a couple of months now and for phones to use during hard exercise and bike training they are my favorites. I get a nice ear seal with the large foam tips, very solid and comfortable, and I get as much isolation as I like at any given time. The sound quality is good with very good clarity and pleasing bass and plenty of sensitivity for use with my iphone. The UM1 is my first balanced armature IEM and they have made like an IEM again. I bought them knowing that they lacked bass but I wanted them for mainly listening to jazz while on the go. They fit well and are reasonably close to being flush in my ear. I would recommend Comply ear pads for better fit,comfort and noise isolation. Build quality seems good but I do make sure not to handle the cable roughly while in use and keep it in the supplied case while not in use.As far as comparisons go,I have a pair of MEE A151 BA IEM and the UM1 is a definite overall step above them. The A151 does have a warmer sound and better bass but lags in detail and build quality. If I ever want move to a better BA IEM,I would definitely consider Westone first.

These are good monitors. I bought these as back up to my dual driver Westones. This company makes the best sounding IE monitor for my professional use on stage with a full production rock band.
